Every year about this time, the Historical Society has a pleasant “Welcome Back” get-together on the back porch of the Bidwell-Wood House before the first Conversation at the Crocker*. It’s to welcome back members to our new season, of course, but it’s also to “Welcome for the First Time” those residents who spend the summer Up North and new Sarasotans.

The Sunday October 15 2023 Conversation* is in tune with

“welcome to Sarasota.” Board Treasurer has lived in and loved Sarasota most of his life. Jon Stone will be showing Sarasota 101 , a concise fast-paced history of our area. With his architectural talent, Jon even drew the House before it became ours!

The nibbles-and-wine reception on the back porch starts at 2pm. If you’d like to come early, docents will be in the House to tell you about it starting at 1:30. The presentation starts at 2:45 in the Crocker Memorial Church steps from the House. Free admission for the day for members, $10 for yet-to-be members.

So, whatever category of interested party you fall into, please join us on Sunday October 15 for our first Conversation of the season!
