Crocker Church is all ready to host YOUR event!

Our campus in Pioneer Park has been bustling this past week: visitors and shoppers and even some alumni!

Plein Air painters, city planners, and some pony-tailed guy installing a bird bath. People playing instruments, people discussing books, people having lunch on the Back Porch. Weeders in our herb garden, butterflies all over, and even some folks who were looking for the Manatee Historical Park.

If your group, family, club need a centrally-located, historic, pleasant place for a gathering, and if you want to help us protect, preserve, and polish two of the oldest buildings in Sarasota County, visit our Facility Rentals page, then give us a call!

  1. Watch for our End of Season Sale on many of our Gift Shop Items, beginning on May 2nd till we close up on May 11th after our Annual Meeting and Pot Luck Picnic on the Porch! The shop will be closed for the summer, but if there’s a special historical book that you just can’t wait for, contact us and we’ll be happy to mail it to you, during those hot summer months! We are gathering quite a collection of books on the histories about our town and our State. Come stop by before you head north for the summer!

  2. We will be taking the Historical Society’s Gift Shop.. On The Road again, one last time this season, on Wed. May 1st, to the History Day in the Park at Phillippi Estate Park, during their regular Farmers Market. We’ll be set up just outside the historic Keith Farmhouse, which will be open ( from 10 – 2 ) for the first time in two years, with docents in costume, antique cars, and other historic groups to educate our newcomers on Sarasota’s rich history! Hope to see you there!

  3. I can only attest to the fact that ours is a great facility, as witnessed by a nice horde of local Georgetown Alumni Club members last Thursday evening. Many of them had never been to our campus, but this was an historic gathering, at a very historic site and they all loved it, especially the Back Porch, where the cool breeze was a welcome gift as we caught up with friends from all over 2 counties, including three prospective students from Pine View H.S. who wanted to meet, in person the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, Charlie Deacon. For a meeting in the Crocker church, followed by a Reception on the Back Porch, our site can’t be beaten!

We'd love to hear what you have to say!
