Turn your gently-used treasures into shingles!

Bidwell-Wood House in WinterThe Bidwell-Wood House, our county’s oldest residence, is in danger from the challenging Florida climate. Without a new roof, we could lose this 1882 home, built when this area was a sandy wilderness. The Historical Society of Sarasota County, located in Pioneer Park at 1260 12th Street (between Tamiami Trail and Cocoanut Avenue), curates and protects both the Crocker Memorial Church and the House, two of Sarasota’s most historic buildings.
One of our fund-raisers that is easy to support is our upcoming

Designer Tag Sale on Saturday Nov. 17, starting at 8am.

This sale, held in the 1901 church, will be joined by our new sales, Ye Olde Bookseller on the home’s front porch and the Back Porch Bargain Bonanza!

Here’s how you can help:

Sort through your home, uncover and de-clutter, and donate things no longer cherish. Encourage friends and family to do so too! Click here for a flier you can print out for friends, book club buddies, church peers, or simply to post in your community’s common area.

Local design studios and civic-minded retailers are donating everything from furniture to fabrics for our sale. We bet you, too, have wonderful donations!
Drop off at 1260 12th Street, Sarasota, between 10am and 2pm Mondays to Fridays. (Please do not leave unattended donations; it will clutter Pioneer Park and may endanger the children who use the neighboring playground.)
