Be a part of the Historical Society. Help out now.

We are so grateful to all our members and supporters who help us conserve and curate two of Sarasota’s oldest buildings in one of our pristine parks, and who participate in our monthly meetings, special events and fund raisers.

This month, we could use some specific help. They range from easy-as-pie to lace on your working shoes. Please choose one or more, and give a few hours to helping HSOSC be a part of Sarasota for years to come!
You can:
* Print out and post this flyer for Pioneer Day. Post it in your community to let neighbors know about this all-ages event on Saturday November 12. The more people who come to see what we have to offer, the more community support we can count on. More details on Pioneer Day in Pioneer Park.
* Go through your underloved possessions and donate any books you won’t read again, or vintage items you have lost your love for, to the Historical Society’s booth in the Crocker Church during Pioneer Day. Drop your donations off at the HS office Mon-Fri 10 to 2, or email Marsha Fottler at fottler@verizon.net with questions or if you need pickup. Please do this now, so she can ready our sales booth!
* Jobs of work to get ready for the event:
Fri Nov 11, 11a to 2p, a man to climb a ladder to hang picture wire in the Church for our vendors.
Helpers to set up the HSOSC Tag Sale Items, price and mark them. Contact Marsha at fottler@verizon.net for times.
Sat Nov 12 8 am: 1 Parking facilitator in DAR/Church parking lot, and helpers to set up tables, games, mark off sites, put up signs, make coffee as vendors arrive, before our 10a opening.
Sat Nov 12 10a-1p  first shift of workers to help cashier, work in gift shop, sell coffee, be available for any help!
Sat Nov 12 1p-4p 2nd shift of workers to do the above and then help break down tables, return chairs to church, general clean -up…
Sat Nov 12 4p All volunteers invited to the CREW’s PARTY afterwards.
