Traditionally, we have held our Conversations at the Crocker once a month, at 7pm, in November and January through April. (Members’ Only Meetings in October, December, and May.) A few years ago, we added Sunday Afternoon Socials, a more informal gathering with refreshments, on (you guessed it) Sunday afternoons once a month.
But if the pandemic taught us anything, it’s to call a halt to the “regular” and take the opportunity to change up some things. Help us, in the poll below, to tailor our offerings to your liking when we are back in operation.
We’ll be asking some more questions in future posts so stay tuned!
It’s been so long, can’t wait to see everyone again.
I am hoping to continue my “ready, willing and able “ approach if the fates allow. You are doing a superb job. Thanks ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Let’s open up. If folks are still reluctant, consider more outdoor venues. I’m anxious to meet more local history buffs and attend lectures, book signings and exhibitions about our beautiful town and region.
Frank, love your enthusiasm, and believe me, my “ideas when reopened” file is adding megabits every day! BTW, we have a board opening for full-voting privileges and recording minutes. Board meets once a month on a Tuesday afternoon fall thru spring, not in the summer at this time. Like to have a say in what and how we present local history? Throw your hat in the ring by calling Site Mgr Linda Garcia or emailing her.
I miss the lectures, they were interesting and informative. Look forward to life being normal.
Hi Mary, Oh how I agree! Our next poll will be on what topics are the most fascinating to you, so be sure to check back soon.
Will the Jon Thaxton luncheon be rescheduled?
Yes, Roberta, it already has been! Thursday Nov 18 I believe… see our Events page at https://hsosc.com/events/ for all the details that are currently available, and if you need more, please call Linda during her covid office hours, Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am to 2pm. We look forward to honoring Jon finally, and to seeing you!
Kate – love the work you do for HSOSC and love the photos!!!
