When it’s ARTISTS IN THE PARK and JAMMIN’ IN THE CROCKER day at the Historical Society on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.!
It’ll be a feast for the ears and eyes when the internationally famous local sculptor, Jack Dowd, joins the long time Sarasota musical legend, Sal Garcia of OMNI fame in a performance for listening and dancing pleasure at the historic Crocker Memorial Church on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Also appearing with Jack and Sal will be Ric Stuart from the Bonfire Jam Band and prominent Sarasota musician Phil The Hat, an avid supporter of the Historical Society.
Who knew that Jack Dowd is as talented musically as he is as a sculptor and artist!
While the music rocks inside the church, the LIGHT CHASERS of THE SUN COAST will be painting outside in Pioneer Park, where you will be able to chat with the artists, many of whom work in oils, and where you can buy “Off the Easel” masterpieces as well as additional selections from these master artists who gather every week to paint “somewhere in Sarasota County”. Our picturesque Pioneer Park is one of their favorite spots to set up their easels. The Light Chasers are donating a portion of their sales that day toward the continued life of the Historical Society’s Bidwell-Wood House and the adjacent Crocker Memorial Church. Intimate tours of the 1882 house will be featured for guests at this event.
Nibbles and beverages will round out this afternoon of sensory delights. Please reserve ahead of time, as seating is limited. $20.00 per person, $15.00 for HSOSC Members. This would make a wonderful holiday gift for friends and neighbors who enjoy live entertainment, dancing, and seeing art created before their very eyes. Please call the office at 941-364-9076 to make your reservations today!
