Here’s the history:

Warm Mineral Springs is the only warm water mineral spring in the State of Florida, and is the largest warm water mineral spring in the world. The surface area of the spring is a round pond, it is 1.4-acre in circumference and reaches depths of nearly 250 feet deep in the center. The cenote dates from 20,000 years ago.

There are over 51 different minerals found in the rich water at Warm Mineral Springs, each one having its own unique health benefits that are absorbed naturally through your skin, helping to re-mineralize one’s body and promote health and healing. The spring produces an astonishing nine million gallons of mineral rich water everyday, as a result, this creates a fresh clean body of water ever two hours!

Warm Mineral Springs is a naturally formed warm water mineral spring. Its temperature is a consistent 87-degrees year-round. Experts agree that this is the ideal temperature for soaking and swimming.

Join old friends and new to visit Warm Mineral Springs with an outing sponsored by the Historical Society of Sarasota County. Leave the navigating and driving to us, relax in an air-conditioned bus with restroom, and arrive at the Spa to soak, join a free class, have a few spa services, and just enjoy. There’s a well-reviewed organic food cafe on the premises.

Wednesday, June 6.

Join the bus at either of two locations:

Departing 8:30 am  @ the Cascades Clubhouse
Departing 9:15  from the parking lot in the S.E. corner of Southgate Mall…behind Macy’s

Return: We will depart Warm Mineral Springs at 4:00 PM to come back to Sarasota.

Cost: $45 per person. This includes round-trip transportation, your entrance fee to the Warm Mineral Springs site, and a small donation to the Historical Society for upkeep and improvement.

Lunch is on your own, inside the Evergreen Cafe, where they serve delicious, fresh, organically grown produce and organic and local wines. (Here’s the menu; sounds scrumptious!)   Spa services will be available, but will need to be pre-booked directly with Warm Mineral Springs if you’d like to be pampered and pounded!

Bring your beach bag, hat, swim suit and towel, but no food is allowed to be brought in. There are changing rooms, lounges, and cold drinks available. Shade, too, and we might even tell a few stories…
