Good morning to my Historical Society friends and peers,

It’s 6:15 am, the sky is dark and the coffee’s still too hot to drink. But 18 (YAY! EIGHTEEN!) of our supporters have donated $1200 so far to the Historical Society, placing us in the TOP THIRD of the 100+ nonprofits competing for matching funds, prizes, and grant money.

Here’s the prizes we could win and how you can help, even if you aren’t up with the Rain Bird this morning:

Encourage friends and family to donate, even at the minimum amount of $25. $100,000 goes to the top 20 nonprofits with the most unique donors, regardless of amount donated. Or perhaps you’ll create your own personal HAC: a Historical Action Committee: gather 4 friends, each giving $5 or $10, and have one of you use your credit card to make a $25 or $50 donation.

Stay up late. Every hour of the 36-Hour Challenge, one donor will be drawn at random, and their cause will receive $250. The chances of YOUR donation winning this go UP, the fewer donors there are. So, while I’m going to bed early this evening, hope some of you will WAIT TO DONATE until the wee hours of the morning!
