This day in 1885: High hopes

On this day in 1885, The almost-100 participants in the Ormiston Colony left Glasgow sarasota florida, 1884bound for here

[which] was believed to be the modern city of Sarasota. They got their ideas from pamphlets distributed by the Fla. Mortgage and Investment Co., who, in turn, blamed the people who had sold them the land.
