Pioneer Day in Pioneer Park Pictures

November 12 2011– Incredible talents showcased by our vendors in both the Crocker Church and outside under the trees during Pioneer Day in Pioneer Park. We thank each of these great supporters for their participation! Pioneer Day in Pioneer Park Sarasota FL 2011As you can see below, activities ranged from antique cars to spinning, children’s vintage games to the “ghosts” of Whitaker Cemetery, presented by our neighbor in the Park, the DAR Sara de Sota Chapter. And the music was fantastic!

Below are just a few of the volunteers whose hard work made The Historical Society of Sarasota County’s grounds and curated buildings shine for our Pioneer Day, our gift to the Sarasota community.

  2. Thanks to Lisa and to our wonderful website editor for saving this article! I’ve been out of town and missed it last week! It WAS a great day and thank you to all you folks who “paid” your admission by bringing canned goods and more, to add to our Historical Foods Donation to the Mayor’s Feed the Hungry Program. Thanks also to all the volunteers and vendors and buyers who made it such a fun time. And, special thanks to Krisztina for devising, building, painting and setting up all the fantastic games, that not only taught skills and balance to the children but provided hours of fun, without once having to use an ipad, cell phone or other “modern device”!

Come see those fabulous Bird Houses, now in our Gift Shop, and lots more crafts too, just in time for the holidays!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

We'd love to hear what you have to say!
