A fresh new look for the Historical Society

Our new logo shows our two buildings in our campus in Pioneer Park. We think it captures the flavor of our locale beautifully!

Reid Gerletti, a lifelong resident of Sarasota, is the graphic designer who

contributed our new logo. A Real Estate agent with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, Reid is a former Board of Directors member at HSOSC and a current member of the Advisory Board. He lives in a downtown historic neighborhood and has an abiding interest in local history. His watercolor painting of our campus is one of our treasures and inspired the new logo adopted by the Board in May 2024.

Here’s our older logo, designed by Chris Blue, past President of HSoSC and son of Hero of History Sue Blue. It’s served us well, but even an historical group needs a refresh now and again!

  1. Love the bright new logo and all the news
I missed this spring! But I won’t miss the November cruise this coming fall!

  2. I just heard there are plans to tear down The Garage on Palm Ave. Can anything be done to stop that? Otherwise, are there plenty of photos of the building – inside and out – for posterity?

    Thanks.

    • Hi Nancy. You might like to check with the History Center on photos. They’re the governmental archives, organized under the Sarasota County Library System.
