Sunday, March 8 2026: Our Traditional LeBarge History Cruise. 11 a.m-1 p.m.

This traditional cruise is a major fundraiser that helps with the restoration and preservation of both the Crocker Memorial Church and the Bidwell-Wood House. We lay out a colorful snack selection for you, and there’s a cash bar on board, as well.

Our guide through history is the incomparable John McCarthy. A relaxing way to learn about the people and places that made Sarasota what it is today, from a renowned and beloved expert on our local history.

We thank Marie Selby Botanical Gardens for “loaning” us John, our supporter and Past President of the Historical Society.

Sip a cold drink, enjoy a nibble or three, feel the sunshine and gentle breeze on your face as you float back in time and laugh and marvel at John’s presentation. Reserve soon because seating is limited. Our chartered boat, the famous LeBarge, leaves from Bayfront Park, (where Marina Jack is) promptly at 11 a.m. so don’t be late. Please Note: The LeBarge cruise in November 2025 was canceled due to the ship needing repair; that means that many of the seats for our March 8 2026 are already reserved. To ensure your seat, act now!

You’ll be put on our passenger manifest. No need for a ticket! Just come on down at 10:30 and receive your name badge, which serves as your entry ticket, from our table on the lawn in front of LeBarge.
